Sometimes, the right connections happen in the most magical ways. The Smith family first learned about ATHA while attending a show at Four Reel Farms. Curious to learn more, they decided to come out and meet the herd—and that visit changed everything.

Originally, they were looking for one horse - ideally a bit of a project - since Melodie had already done an amazing job building trust and partnership with their older thoroughbred mare, who once carried the label “unrideable” due to temperament.

But from the moment she met him, Melodie felt an instant bond with Vinnie. Nearby, Capri was having a moment of her own, falling completely head over heels for Sunny. It was one of those rare days where the horses seemed to choose their people just as clearly as the people chose them.

We never get tired of witnessing these special connections—the quiet knowing, the instant trust, the start of something new.

Before long, Vinnie and Sunny were on their way up north, beginning the next chapter of their lives together with their new family. Two horses, one loving home, and a future full of promise—this is what success looks like at ATHA.
