Adoption Story
On October 6, 2023, a special day unfolded for three deserving horses: Elka (Lakshmimahagansm), Reno (Front Runner), and Ridgeway. They found their forever home with Tony, an ATHA Board Member, and Stacy. These three ATHA rescues quickly settled into their loving new environment, marking the start of a wonderful chapter.
Each horse brings a unique story to their new family:
Elka (Lakshmimahagansm), a beautiful 15-year-old mare, boasts a robust racing history with 34 starts across Arizona and California racetracks. Her lineage includes the legendary Seattle Slew.

Reno (Front Runner), a magnificent 19-year-old dark bay gelding from California, had nine starts in California and Arizona. His impressive lineage includes his grandfather, Seattle Slew. Reno gets along with horses and humans alike and always was an ATHA volunteer favorite.

Ridgeway, a handsome 7-year-old gelding, was born in British Columbia. His racing career included five starts on racetracks in Canada and Arizona.
Now, Elka, Reno, and Ridgeway are thriving as a small, happy herd with their devoted "Papa Tony." Their personalities have truly blossomed: Ridgeway has playfully adopted the role of the "annoying little brother," while Elka has sweetly become "Reno's girlfriend." Life is undeniably good for these three musketeers, who have found not just a home, but a true family.
