Adoption Story
October 4, 2024, marked a new chapter for two remarkable horses as Frank and Brenda Bijak welcomed them into their home.
The adopted duo from ATHA includes Charley Brown (Irons Up), a striking 17.2 hh, 17-year-old Bay American Appendix Gelding. Though he never raced, this calm and quiet show horse stood out in the ATHA herd, literally, as he was taller than the rest.
Joining him is General (Cowboys Flag), an 18-year-old Dark Bay Thoroughbred Gelding with an impressive lineage – he's a grandson of the legendary Seattle Slew and a half-brother to Reno (Front Runner), another ATHA adoption success story.
Despite two unplaced starts at Zia Park, General's sweet nature, affectionate personality, and undeniable beauty shine through. He even proudly represented ATHA at the 2024 Kentucky Derby Days party hosted at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, AZ.
