Make Every Day a Hay Day
Help us keep the barn full — and second chances possible.
Meet Rosie

When Rosie (Rote Eisen) arrived at After The Homestretch–Arizona, she was underweight and in urgent need of care.
This sweet 17‑year‑old off‑the‑track Thoroughbred mare has done it all — from English and Western lessons to 4‑H and gymkhana.

Her path to recovery began with the simplest, most essential thing: hay — and lots of it.

With proper nutrition and consistent care, Rosie is already gaining weight and strength.
Her progress is living proof that when our horses are nourished, lives change.

Why This Matters
At ATHA, every day starts the same way — with our herd of hungry horses waiting to be fed.
Because our ranch is located in the North Phoenix desert, we don’t have grazing land or pasture grass our horses can rely on. Every single meal — twice a day, every day — comes from hay. No exceptions.
Our horses depend on hay to stay healthy, maintain weight, and keep their digestive systems functioning properly. A full hay barn here isn’t a luxury — it’s survival.
Right now, we spend approximately $2,000 every month on hay. Each 100‑pound, three‑string bale fuels recovery, supports training, and helps move a horse one step closer to a forever home.
Rosie’s story is exactly why we’re inviting you to help us Make Every Day a Hay Day.

Our Goal
Through this campaign, we aim to raise a full year’s hay budget so we can spend the rest of the year caring for horses instead of worrying about feed costs.

Every $2,000 raised secures one full month of hay — keeping our horses fed, healthy, and on track all year long.
No matter the amount, your generosity helps turn ordinary days into Hay Days for the horses who need it most.
After The Homestretch–Arizona is a 100% volunteer‑run 501(c)(3) nonprofit so every dollar you give goes directly to the aftercare and rehoming of retired racehorses.
Together, we can ensure every day at the ranch is filled with full hay nets, healthy horses, and hopeful futures.
