Cory McCloskey from Fox News 10 AZ AM brought his Cory's Corner crew out to the Ranch yesterday, August 1st, to meet the horses and find out a little more about what we do. The weather was a bit iffy so the broadcast was delayed until the next day when it aired this morning on the morning show AZ AM, Fox 10 Phoenix KSAZ.
Michele rode Jackhammer in the Arena which impressed Corey quite a lot and Dannielle had an opportunity to explain to viewers a bit of the background to the need for ATHA's mission here in the Valley, especially as Turf Paradise has one of the longest racing seasons in the country and can have as many as 1,700 - 2,100 horses during their 8 month season. So there is a critical need for organizations such as ours to take care of the many horses whose racing careers, for whatever reason, have come to an end.
Cory got up close and personal with quite a few of the members of our herd and, having had a Quarterhorse in his family, our guys seemed to connect with him really well - they're a social bunch (for the most part!). Reno, who of course is the grandson of the 1977 Triple Crown Winner Seattle Slew, made sure he got into the act too by making an appearnace in all the live shots he could!
Dannielle and Cory discussed ATHA's "forced" move as a result of the sale of the property which it leases, and appealed to viewers to pitch in and help with the Capital Campaign which has just launched.

Thank you Cory for giving us such great exposure, especially at this time of need, and for the compassion and interest you showed in our horses and their futures.
