LIKES
Jackhammer loves searching everyone's pockets for treats and leisurely trail rides in the desert. He also loves stealing the water hose and being sprayed down, even in the face, and going to the lake.
DISLIKES
He does not like mares or being the center of attention.
SPECIAL TALENTS
Jackhammer's talents are holding the rake and looking handsome!
TRAINING AND SUITABILITY
He is quiet with great ground manners, and he's been ridden on the trails bitless. He needs an experienced, lightweight rider but he's very responsive.
Jackhammer requires occasional chiropractic work. He was retired from racing young and was diagnosed as a wobbler. He has grown out of it, but we feel he would be best with a lighter rider, and he has to be able to maintain his own relaxed headset. He cannot tuck his head.
SPONSORSHIP
Jackhammer is fully sponsored by Kirsten Ghaster. Thank you Kirsten!
ADOPTION
Jackhammer was adopted by Kirsten Ghaster on September 7, 2019!
Sweet Jackhammer has been a volunteer favorite the entire time he has been with us. He loves the water and loves being around people.
Kirsten began volunteering earlier this year and immediately fell in love with Jack. She sponsored him for many months and her husband, Brad, reached out wanting to surprise her by adopting Jackhammer for her birthday.
As preparations began, he realized too many decisions needed to be made so Kirsten was brought in on the surprise.
On her birthday, it was made official, Jack has a loving family to call his own. He will be kept nearby and Kirsten plans to visit the ATHA Ranch with him often.
Happy Birthday Kirsten and Congratulations!
