Officer Hale of the AZ Dept of Agriculture/Livestock had received reports of an abandoned horse in South Phoenix and that it was starving. After several days he was able to locate her but she was leery of his putting a halter on her. He walked behind her for over 2 miles, guiding her toward a corral for safety.
She was underweight, had a swollen back left leg, has several wounds and her feet are in bad shape. After staying the required 10 days in the custody of Livestock, she was released to us on January of 2013.
Halee is doing well in a small herd of three. She is an older mare in the mid 20s. She will not pick up her feet but she loves attention from people and loves being groomed.
