Foaled: June 13, 2002 in California
Dam: Gift of Knowledge
Sire: Bold Badgett
28 starts, 6 firsts, 7 seconds, 4 thirds.
Career earnings $150,768.
Raced at Santa Anita, Hollywood Park, Del Mar, Bay Meadows, Turf Paradise and Yavapai Downs.
Grady was ridden by Hall of Fame jockey, Victor Espinoza, who rode American Pharaoh and won the Triple Crown in 2015.
College Graduate "Grady" had a start at a successful racing career until at Hollywood Park when he did not finish his race. He was pulled up by his Hall of Fame jockey, Victor Espinoza, due to a leg injury.
For the next several years, Grady was a prized stallion having sired several offspring. Tragically the breeding farm was shut down because of neglect of the horses.
Unfortunately, the neglect led to Grady's front coffin bones sinking to an advanced state, cutting off blood circulation to his hooves. Through it all, Grady stayed stoic, sweet and respectful...sharing hay with his buddies Reno and Comet and loving the attention every volunteer gave him.
We want to thank Healing Hearts Animal Rescue, who rescued him and all the other horses at that breeding farm and for asking us to take Grady into our herd. We feel honored to have gotten to know him and learn from him.
